Paul brings his unmistakable style to this the seventh Mesterhazy benefit as one of the original artists to again honor to his friend and mentor, George. Paul can be heard on SiriusXM Radio. He is honored that one of his original songs, “Book Faded Brown”, was recorded by The Band, Rick Danko and Carl Perkins. In New York, he can be seen every last Wednesday of the month at 55 Bar and he performs frequently at other popular venues in New York and Philadelphia. Paul’s vocals are so soulful that music journalist Buster Maxwell wrote, 'He nearly single-handedly reclaims the male voice as a valid and critically important jazz instrument.' Peter McLaren in Jazz in Europe reviewed Jost’s recording Breaking Through and said, “Paul Jost has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with and an artist that deserves to be seen on all great festival stages worldwide.” Raul da Gama has written of Paul, "...in his pristine articulation, Mr Jost dips into a colour palette that is not only most unusual, but also vast and encompassing of an impossibly wide register...he has been spoken of as a worthy successor, among male vocalists, to the legendary Mark Murphy."...
